Judicial Resource Commission to Review Caseload Balance
The Nebraska Judicial Resources Commission will hold its annual meeting Tuesday, Dec. 10.
The commission will review if a new judgeship, or a reduction in judgeships, is appropriate in any judicial district. It will also look at the judicial district boundaries and number of judicial districts for district and county courts.
The evaluation will include an examination of current caseload statistics, according to a Nebraska Judicial Branch news release.
In addition, the commission will consider if a vacancy exists in the Separate Juvenile Court of Lancaster County due to the retirement of Judge Toni G. Thorson effective Oct. 16 and if a vacancy exists in the County Court of the 6th Judicial District due to the retirement of Judge Matt Samuelson effective Oct. 31.
The meeting will be held in Room 1510 of the State Capitol in Lincoln. The meeting is open to the public. Testimony related to pertinent information may be presented orally or in writing.
