Inaugural Nebraska Fintech Conference Next Month
A networking group for financial technology professionals will hold its inaugural conference next month in Lincoln.
The Nebraska networking group Flyover Fintech will hold the Flyover Fintech Conference Nov. 12 at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center.
The conference offers influential fintechs, startups, industry professionals and policy makers an opportunity to explore the changing landscape in the Midwest in financial technology.
Flyover Fintech was founded in 2016 by Ben Pankonin and Bill Udell. The group holds regional meetups to discuss their companies’ growth in the “flyover cities” of Lincoln, Omaha, Des Moines, Kansas City and others.
“As a growing community, it was important for us to come together and have a space for innovation and discussion, somewhere we could bounce ideas off each other, ask questions, give advice and provide support,” Udell said in a news release.
Conference sponsors include the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Nelnet and Ameritas.
“Ameritas is proud to support the Flyover Fintech Conference as it is a testament to the Midwest’s commitment to innovation,” said Josh Everett, vice president of strategic partnerships and innovation at Ameritas. “This industry has the ability to grow in our backyard, and I thank Flyover Fintech for helping to influence innovation culture in the Midwest with this conference.”
Fintech is one of several areas that was recently highlighted by Blueprint Nebraska as a priority for the state. Creighton University also recently launched a finance and technology major at the Heider College of Business.
“We hope attendees leave this conference with a better understanding of where fintech is now, how it is projected to grow and gain knowledge about new policies and regulations that might impact that growth,” Pankonin said in a news release.
The conference costs $200. For more on the conference, visit flyoverfintech.com. Register for the conference by sending an email to info@flyoverfintech.com.
