FIREWORKS SALES START TODAY
Fireworks go on sale today at three stands in Ralston and will be sold through Sunday, July 4. The stands, operated by Bellino Fireworks, provide a portion of their proceeds to support area nonprofit groups. The fireworks stand near 72nd and Harrison streets, shown above on Wednesday, June 23, supports the Jr. Lancers. The stand near 72rd and Q streets, supports Glow Church. The stand near 84th and Madison streets supports Boy Scouts Troop 60. Fireworks may be ignited or discharged between 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. through July 3 and until 11:59 p.m. July 4. In Omaha city limits, they’re allowed July 2 through July 4 from noon to 11 p.m. Permitted hours vary in other communities. In Sarpy County, fireworks are allowed 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily in Bellevue, Papillion and Springfield. La Vista limits them to 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Grenta allows them from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On July 4, La Vista allows discharges until 11 p.m.; the other cities allow until midnight.
