Douglas County Juvenile Court Draws 16 Candidates
Sixteen candidates are up for two vacant spots on the Douglas County Juvenile Court bench.
The vacancies were created by the retirement of Judge Douglas F. Johnson and the resignation of Judge Elizabeth G. Crnkovich.
The candidates are:

• Jane M. McNeil
• Sarah M. Moore
• Candice J. Novak
• Dami J. Oluyole
• Kathleen S. Pallesen
• Patrick R. Runge
• Amy N. Schuchman
• Karine E. Sokpoh
• Mary “Peg” Stevens
• Joy M. Suder
• Christina L. Thornton
Chrystal-Clark and Sokpoh are Bennington residents. Schuchman and Stevens are Elkhorn residents. The rest all live in Omaha.
The Nominating Commission for the Separate Juvenile Court of Douglas County will hold a public hearing on Monday, Nov. 4, to review the applications.
The hearing begins at 9:30 a.m. in Courtroom 408 in the Douglas County Courthouse, 1701 Farnam St. in Omaha. The public is invited to attend and present information concerning the candidates.

Following the public hearing, the commission is expected to deliberate and recommend a list of candidates to Gov. Pete Ricketts, who will make the final appointments to the vacancies.
