DCSO Given Grant for In-Car Cameras
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office recently announced it has received a grant to purchase two in-car camera systems.
A news release states that the grant came from the Nebraska Department of Transportation and the Highway Safety Office.
“In-car cameras have become vital for law enforcement these days,” Highway Safety Office Administrator William Kovarik said in the release. “The industry is becoming more technologically sophisticated, and this will help improve both highway and law enforcement safety.”
The grant funding assistance for this project is up to $7,000.
“Law enforcement serves an essential role in our community and have to be properly equipped to do their jobs,” Kovarik said.
