DCHD Asks County Residents to Fight Pandemic Fatigue
The Douglas County Health Department is asking everyone to keep up protective measures against the coronavirus, even as more residents are vaccinated.
“As the COVID-19 pandemic drags on, even as we see more reasons to believe better days are near,” the department said in a news release last week. “As new variants are found in our community, masking up and hand washing must continue to be emphasized.”
For community members who haven’t yet been vaccinated, it’s time to sign up for an appointment or walk into a clinic.
“Everyone 16 years of age and up is eligible for the vaccine and walk-ins are welcome at most clinics in Douglas County,” according to a DCHD news release. “For those who prefer to set an appointment, you will have that option.”
Look for a blue box to sign up at douglascountyhealth.com for a vaccine appointment. Anyone without internet access can also call 402-444-3400 for help.
Since the start of the pandemic, Douglas County confirmed more than 69,800 cases as of last Wednesday. So far, at least 696 people in Douglas County have died from COVID-19.
