Daily Record Wins Nebraska Press Association Award for Website
The Daily Record recently received first place honors in the Nebraska Press Association’s 2020 Better Newspaper Contest for daily newspaper websites.
The award was announced last Thursday via a video presentation due to the coronavirus pandemic. The NPA canceled its annual convention earlier this year.
Recognized for the award were Managing Editor Scott Stewart, Publisher Jason Huff and former Daily Record editor Antone Oseka, who is now managing editor of the Gretna Guide & News.
The Daily Record competed in contests with 10 daily newspapers in the state, excluding the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star. More than 3,400 separate entries, including submissions by 59 weekly papers, were judged by members of the Illinois Press Association. The Kearney Hub won the overall sweepstakes contest among daily newspapers.
The Daily Record launched its current website last August, replacing its original website that launched in 1999. The newspaper partnered with web development provider Surf New Media.
