The Daily Record Launches New Website, Social Media Profiles
The longtime digital presence of The Daily Record has received an overhaul.
The Daily Record launched a refreshed design to improve our customers’ experience. You can find the paper’s new website at omahadailyrecord.com – the same address as our previous website.
“We want to serve our diverse community of legal, business and real estate professionals the best way possible,” said Daily Record Publisher Jason Huff. “This new website lets us accomplish that objective. I’m proud of my team for all the work they’ve put into getting the site ready, and I’m excited to finally share that work with our readers.”
The Daily Record partnered with newspaper web development provider Surf New Media on the website, which is built using the Drupal platform. The website will offer persistent hyperlinks, easier access to information and a wider array of media experiences, including photo galleries and video.
Subscribers can also find a replica of the print editions, which can be viewed or downloaded.
The Daily Record’s website refresh is about 20 years to the date that the omahadailyrecord.com website was created. The original website launched Aug. 27, 1999.
Antone Oseka, managing editor of the newspaper, said he believes the new website will make it easier for customers to find public records and public notices. News stories will be grouped into categories, and legal briefs will now be published online and in print.
“The new website is a significant improvement for our readers,” Oseka said. “The design is much easier to navigate, and users will be able to find the content they care about faster, plus interacting with our online edition is much more user friendly.”
In addition to the new website, The Daily Record is launching an expanded social media presence.
The newspaper’s updated Facebook page can now be found at facebook.com/omahadailyrecord.
The newspaper’s new Twitter is at twitter.com/omaharecord. Its LinkedIn page is at linkedin.com/company/omahadailyrecord.
Scott Stewart, the paper’s local news editor, said resources on the website include information on how to find legal assistance, links to various area legal organizations and a directory of area governments, schools and courts.
“We want to be an information hub for the Omaha metro area’s legal and business communities,” Stewart said. “Our new website will allow us to share news faster and to a wider audience, while also providing a better destination for our customers to access public records, legal notices and other important information.”
The website launched Friday afternoon, and current subscribers should have received an email with instructions on how to set up a new password for their account. (Note: The message was sent automatically, so check your spam or junk folder if you don’t see the email.)
Anyone who wasn’t able to set a new password or who otherwise cannot access the subscriber-only content – including the e-edition or public records – should contact The Daily Record by calling us at 402-345-1303 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays. Customers can also email Huff for assistance at jason@omahadailyrecord.com.
The Daily Record would also welcome feedback from its customers about the new website, as well as other suggestions on how to improve customer experience.
