Creighton Law Students Learn About Appellate Court Clerking
Judge Francie Riedmann organized and moderated a panel of law clerks to discuss career possibilities with Creighton University College of Law students over the noon hour on March 16.
The panel was made up of Katie Wayne, career law clerk for Riedmann; Kristyn Wong, term law clerk for Justice Jeffrey Funke; Julie Ryan, former law clerk for Judge Riko Bishop who now works at Abrahams Kaslow; and Christian Mirch, former law clerk for Chief Justice Miachel Heavican who now works at the Department of Labor, the Nebraska Judicial Branch said in a news release.
The clerks joined Riedmann, in answering questions from students about job requirements, work expectations and work-life balance.
The event was held at the request of Assistant Dean of Career Development Mandy Whiddon and Director of Legal Research & Writing Carol Knoepfler.
The panel, always a popular opportunity for the multiple students exploring judicial clerkships following graduation, hopes to return to in-person presentations in 2022.
