Bellevue Chamber Picks Its Next CEO
The Greater Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce announced last week it has hired Michelle Andahl as its next president and CEO.
Andahl is the commissioner of the Sarpy County Election Commission, where she has served for four years. She will join the chamber in September.
A Bellevue resident, Andahl has enjoyed the honor of serving the voters of Sarpy County, according to a chamber news release, including the successful administration of the 2020 presidential election despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Andahl will bring more than 20 years of experience in leadership, government relations, and community development and engagement to the chamber.
Major accomplishments on her resume includes leading Sarpy County’s Complete Count campaign for the 2020 census, in which Sarpy County was among the top responding counties in the U.S., and running a fundraising and consulting business that managed large-scale fundraising and capital campaigns across the country.
In a release, Andahl said it is an honor to join the chamber.
“Bellevue is a city with a rich history and a very bright future for our business community and residents,” Andahl said in the release. “I look forward to meeting with every member of the chamber and working to support them, as well as building on the relationships I have with city leadership to coordinate efforts for economic development.”
Amanda Glazebrook, president of the chamber’s board of directors, said Andahl will bring a passion for Bellevue and Sarpy County to the position.
“Michelle has been a long-time volunteer at the chamber and brings a charm and warmth that will be a pillar to Bellevue’s local businesses and community,” Glazebrook said in a release.
Andahl will replace Kevin Hensel, who left the Greater Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce at the end of June to become a manager at Habitat for Humanity of Omaha.
