10 Apply for 2 Spots on Douglas County District Court
The Nebraska Judicial Branch announced the names of those who applied recently for two open spots on the Douglas County District Court bench.
The 10 applicants for district court judge in the 4th Judicial District are:
• Tressa M. Alioth of Bennington;
• Elizabeth A. Beninato of Omaha;
• Makayla S. Danner of Omaha;
• Todd O. Engleman of Omaha;
• Brandie M. Fowler of Omaha;
• Patrick R. Guinan of Omaha;
• Thomas K. Harmon of Omaha;
• Molly B. Keane of Elkhorn;
• Jeffrey J. Lux of Omaha; and
• Korey T. Taylor of Omaha.
The vacancies are due to the retirements of Judge Gary B. Randall and Judge James T. Gleason. A public hearing will be held via WebEx at the Douglas County District Court, Courtroom #507, 1701 Farnam St., beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021. All applicants will be reviewed at that time.
Any member of the public wishing to present testimony for the commission’s consideration may do so one of two ways:
• Written testimony can be sent ot the commission chair no later than March 18 at the following address: Justice Freudenberg, Nebraska Supreme Court, PO Box 98910, Lincoln, NE 68509. Comments can be sent by email to ashley.nolte@nebraska.gov.
• Oral testimony can be made in person at the hearing. Anyone attending should be prepared for staggered admittance and restricted seating in order to maintain appropriate social distancing.
