The Nebraska State Bar Association is preparing to welcome a new chair of its House of Delegates and new members of the NSBA Executive Council during the 2020 NSBA Annual Meeting, which runs virtually this week.
Susan Sapp is set to become chair of the House of Delegates on Wednesday, and Tim Brouillette, Sean Minahan and Alex Lierz will begin their terms this week on the Executive Council.

The Nebraska State Bar Association is planning to continue its six-year tradition of a public service project in conjunction with the NSBA Annual Meeting.
Previous projects have included packaging meals for the hungry and collecting blood for the Nebraska Community Blood Bank. This year’s project will be supporting Nebraska food banks.

The American Bar Association Student Division and Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs will mark Law Student Mental Health Day on Thursday with a free webinar exploring the intersection of racial justice, social activism and mental health.
The webinar will encourage law students to recommit to personal wellbeing during a year filled with challenges and stresses, according to a news release.

Omaha Judge Gary B. Randall will step down at the end of the year after 23 years of service.
Randall announced his Dec. 31 retirement in a letter to the governor, with the announcement coinciding with his 70th birthday, according to a news release from the Nebraska Judicial Branch.

Applicants for the 6th Judicial District County Court must apply by 4 p.m. Thursday, while applicants for the Separate Juvenile Court of Lancaster County must apply by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
