Eight Apply in Second Round of Candidates for Sixth District Bench Vacancy

Eight candidates have submitted applications for appointment as a district judge in the 6th Judicial District of Nebraska.

The successful candidate would replace Judge Paul J. Vaughan, who resigned effective May 31.

CASA for Douglas County held its ninth annual CASA Superhero Festival and 5k Run Saturday at Aksarben Village.

The event sought to raise awareness about children in foster care and how volunteer court-appointed special advocates help lift up their lives and voices.
