Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Omaha met on January 27, 2026 and passed and approved the following ordinances:
ORDINANCE NO. 44553
AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located southwest of 156th and Potter Streets from AG-Agricultural District and R5--Urban Family Residential District to R4-Single-Family Residential District (High-Density).
Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: Lots 1-21 and Outlots A-D, Pine Creek Woods, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, are hereby rezoned from AG-Agricultural District and R5-Urban Family Residential District to R4-Single-Family Residential District (High-Density).

AN ORDINANCE to amend the boundaries of the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District, to incorporate into that district the property located southwest of 156th and Potter Streets; and to provide for an effective date.
Summary: In accordance with Sections 55-681 through 55-688 and 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, the official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended so that: Lot 22, Pine Creek Woods, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska is hereby rezoned to be included in and incorporated into the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District; provided, that the base zoning district for such property shall not be changed by this ordinance.

AN ORDINANCE to accept the bid of Choppers Lawn Service, in the amount of $55,550.00 to provide clean-up and turf maintenance for Ramble Ridge Subdivision for City of Omaha Parks, located between Fort and 108th Streets and Military Road. The Agreement will commence upon City Council approval and run through December 31, 2026. This Agreement may be extended on the same terms and conditions and bid price ($55,500.00) for an additional two (2) one-year term extensions, if the City exercises the option to do so. Extensions of the contract shall be at the option of the City, exercised by the Parks, Recreation and Public Property Director or their representative, without the need to seek further approval of the city council.

AN ORDINANCE to approve an agreement between the City of Omaha and Omaha Public Schools for the City to provide, one uniformed police officer and a marked police car to the following schools: Benson High School, Bluestem Middle School, Buena Vista High School, Burke High School, Central High School, McMillan Magnet Center, Monroe Middle School, Norris Middle School, North High School, Northwest High School, South High School, two uniformed officers and a marked police car to Blackburn Alternative School and one uniformed K-9 certified police officer as a School Resource Officer and a canine to be available at any of the School District’s High Schools, Middle Schools, or Alternative Schools, involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter, Omaha Public Schools will reimburse the City of Omaha at an hourly rate of $50.21 during the City’s 2025 payroll year and at an hourly rate which will not exceed $53.01 during the City’s 2026 payroll year, with the Omaha Public Schools being responsible for other costs related to the canine; and to provide an effective date hereof.
