“NOTICE OF THE SITTING OF THE CITY COUNCIL AS A BOARD OF EQUALIZATION”

To the owners of lots, parts of lots, and pieces of real estate described herein and situated in the City of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, upon which structures and buildings have been condemned and demolished in accordance with Chapters 43 and 48 of the Omaha Municipal Code.

 

You and each of you are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Omaha will sit as a Board of Equalization in the Legislative Chamber in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, Omaha, Nebraska, at least one day from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, commencing DECEMBER 10, 2019 for the purpose of considering and equalizing the proposed levy of special taxes and assessments prepared by the City of Omaha, and now on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and correcting any errors therein, and hearing all complaints that the owners of property so to be assessed and taxed may have to be made; said special taxes and assessments proposed to be levied being necessary to cover  the charges for demolishing condemned structures and buildings pursuant to Chapter 43 of the Omaha Municipal Code.

The City of Omaha, acting as Agent for the owner, invites bids for the LEAD HAZARD CONTROL OF DWELLING UNIT at:

Closing Time:  3:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 4, 2019

Sealed bids are invited and will be received on or before the closing time, as per specifications on file in the office of Rehab Division of the Planning Department, Room 1111, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center.

Sealed bids to be addressed to Rehabilitation Division, Room 1111, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center marked “Bid on LEAD HAZARD CONTROL OF DWELLING UNIT,” with the address and job number identified, must be on file in this office on or before 3:00 P.M. on the closing date, at which time the bids will be opened and read by the Rehab Division before bidders and the public in Room 1111, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center.

Attention is called to the fact that not less than minimum salaries and wages as specified by the U.S. Secretary of Labor as set forth in the specification may be paid on the rehabilitation work.  The contractor must, furthermore, ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color or creed, sex or national origin.

The bidder must file a certificate of insurance with the Rehab Division evidencing comprehensive public liability insurance coverage protecting the property owner for not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate arising out of the work performed by the contractor.  Evidence of workman’s compensation insurance must be shown prior to receipt of the order to proceed with the work.

The owner reserves the right to accept, reject, or negotiate any or all bids in whole or in part.

Preliminary and Final Plat approval of OPA CAMPUS, a subdivision inside city limits, with a waiver of Section 53-8(5c-d), Easements, along with rezoning from DS and CBD to CBD (property is located within an ACI-1 Overlay District). Northwest and southwest of 11th and Dodge Streets.

Conditional Use Permits

Special Use Permits

Approval of a Special Use Permit to allow a Broadcast tower in the R6 District, with a waiver to Section 55-226, Height, to allow a 100 foot tall tower. North of George B Lake Parkway and West Q Road.

Approval of a Major Amendment to the Special Use Permit to allow Construction sales and service in a CC District, and approval of a Major Amendment to the Large Project Special Use Permit, along with expansion of the ACI-4-Area of Civic Importance Overlay District (portions of the property are located within the ACI-4 Overlay District). 708 North 120th Street.

Approval of a Special Use Permit to allow Personal improvement services in the GI District, with approval of a parking adjustment (Section 55-736). 10729 J Street.

Vacations

Vacation of the east/west alley, west of North 28th Avenue, between Binney Street and Maple Street abutting Lot 91, Block 0 of Gises Addition and Lots 3-11 and 13, Block 0 of Remington Subdivision.
