Infrastructure Repair Charge

Black Hills Nebraska Gas Company, LLC d/b/a Black Hills Energy (Black Hills Energy) provides public notice pursuant to the State Natural Gas Regulation Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. § 66-1810(2), that effective with April 2025 billing, Black Hills Energy will implement a new annual charge for customers served in the Agricultural Choice Gas Program Rate Area 5. Black Hills Energy’s Residential and Commercial customers subject to the jurisdiction of the Nebraska Public Service Commission are NOT affected by this notice or applicable charge. In addition, Residential/Commercial Customers in Rate Area 5 are NOT affected by this notice or applicable charge.

The new annual rate charge is necessary to account for ongoing maintenance, repairs to agriculture meters and natural gas main lines and will affect existing agricultural meters and new meters coming onto service between April 1 and December 1. Black Hills Energy will send a notification letter to each customer affected by this notice.

Agriculture Infrastructure Repair Charge: On and after April 1, 2025, Black Hills Energy’s non-regulated agricultural choice gas program customer annual charge of $130.00 will appear as a separate line item on their bill called “Annual Agriculture Infrastructure Repair Charge.”

Our highest priority is providing safe and reliable natural gas service to all our customers. We take great pride in properly maintaining our natural gas infrastructure which consists of over 8,000 miles of natural gas main in Nebraska.
